Went to dr yesterday due to some inflammation on my penis which i have been treating with thrush cream.
They took pee samples and a swab and couldn't find anything, so sent my samples for further analysis. I got a text this morning saying my urine has tested positive for chlamydia.
How is this possible? I have been with my OH for two years and both of us have been faithful. I did have a bit of a promiscuous lifestyle before we got together but I have not been with anyone else since. I am sure he hasnt either.
You can have it for ages without knowing, your OH will need to be tested as well. Probably you or she had it from before you got together. They recommend young adults should test regularly and certainly when you change partners.
We were both tested when we got together. The fact that the clinic missed it on the first test yesterday makes me wonder if they missed it on my screening two years ago, as its the same place.
Not sure if testing methods vary from centre to centre. After two years chances are you both have it and need treatment. Might be worth using somewhere else next time.
it is not something I would laugh about ...
anyway a lot of your questions dont seem to have an answer.
that is because if you diagnose it - you dont sit and look at it but you treat immediately.... 1/5 goes away spontaneously apparently
I guess you're trying to answer "How is this possible?". Which is perfectly acceptable to say "potentially a sexual partner is being unfaithful" but please could 'we' be careful about how 'we' say that, it may come across as rude or slightly judgemental (Even though it isn't, straight talking can just lead to that vibe)
A lot of mobile clinics go into colleges and schools, uni halls etc.. They ALL text results (usually if clear). If you have an issue they'll usually ring you. Not sure how established permanent clinics work. I assume similar, why would they send a postal letter? How else would it work.
