Does anyone know what the symptoms are for chlamydia? I recently started seeing someone, and when we had sexual intercourse after the third time, I experienced really bad itching 'down there' . It only lasted about a week and now Im ok (we've had intercourse since). Maybe it's not chlamydia and something else? Or maybe I'm just being paranoid that Ive caught some sort of STD? Am I being silly over nothing???

There is very often no symptoms whatsover.

Symptoms include a discarge and a light bleed.

Doesn't hurt to get tested.

Itching is more likely to be 'crabs'.
could also be thrush which can be but isnt necessarily passed on through intercourse. a bout of thrush may also occur after particularly vigorous intercourse. get to the doctors or ur local clinic to put your mind at rest!

Thanks for your answers guys. I hope it isn't crabs, thats a scary thing.
It may possibly be thrush, the intercourse that time was very 'vigorous'.
I would much prefer it be the latter.
Thanks guys. I think a visit to the docs is due next week
and do you think perhaps if you're having uprotected sex with someone new you should both get checked out? there's far worse out there than chlamydia!
Hi im new to answer bank but hope i can be of some help to you.

Chlamydia is the most commonly diagnosed STI, sometimes no symptoms are shown in both men and women unless it leads to complications, which can be severe should it go untreated.

I suggest you both go and get checked for your own peace of mind and always use a condom, as teag1rl said, there is far worse out there. you can go to your local gum clinic and ask to be tested for everything, including HIV.
Chlamydia symptoms are usually a burning sensation while urinating, a yellow or white drip, and sometimes stomach problems. Many times there is no symptoms though so people often carry it and not know it.
