Gentlemen close your eyes or look the other way please:-
My wife has suffered severe cindidiasis for seventeen years, (symptoms affect her whole body). The NHS has been ineffective treating her and she has spent a small fortune on so called health supplements, with only limited and temporary relief.
Her latest "discovery" is boric acid applied as a douche.
Does anybody know what atrength to use, (tea spoons of powder to a pint of water?), how often to use it, how long before she could expect results, and does it work?
The acid comes as a white powder with no instructions, as it has many other uses.
Your help would be greatly valued and appreciated.

Hi Theland,
Has your wife also cut out all yeast products? ie: mushrooms, bread, beer and anything else containing yeast.....
I understand it is a very difficult thing to get control of and most people have it in 1 form or another.
A simple spit test usually shows whether you have it in your mouth too.
Fill a glass with water and spit into it. If it goes stringy and cloudy that apparently shows a form of candida. If the spit remains clear you dont have it.
As for the douche? no idea....... probably better than cannestan.....
Best Wishes to her :-)

Fill gel capsules with Boric Acid to use as vaginal suppositories.

Insert 2 capsules filled with Boric Acid into the vagina every night for a week. Not sure where you'd get the capsules from though, a chemist may be able to point you inthe right direction though or a health food shop or alternative medicine store.

Boric Acid may cause large amounts of vaginal discharge,
superficial burning and discomfort for the first few days. Discontinue use if the burning is severe
There is a help group at this link that may be able to offer some support to your wife.

I hope she can get it sorted as it seems like the poor lady has suffered enough over the years.
