the upper part of my back is giving me problems. Very clicky and uncomfortable but not bad enough so that it's affecting me in anyway seriously. do i see my GP ? it feels like it needs to be clicked or manipulated in some way, i think it's a result of poor posture. Or do i make an appointment with a specialist and if so will that be expensive ?

I have the same problem. GP just kept sending me away and told me to take ibuprofen, so I went to an osteopath and haven't looked back. My back and neck were seriously seized up and within 20 minutes the osteo had helped me get full mobility back and the pain stopped. After four sessions my posture was better than it's been in years and now I just go once a year to keep it in check. It costs 28 a session, which is well worth it (cheaper than a facial or a hair cut). Even my doctor has said I did the right thing - as he points out, osteopaths have trained for several years and are experts in how muscles and the skeleton work. It feels a bit odd when you first have it done - they give you a lovely deep tissue massage and then start to pop the joints (sounds horrible but you get that great sense of immediate relief that everything is back where it should be). I've also heard similarly good things about chiropractors. Good luck!
yes, osteophaths can be good. however, they can do permanent damage. haivng had a lot of experience with back problems i would suggest you see someone who does aromathery massage - ask for hard and deep massage. they will also talk to you about your posture to improve matters. you will probably benefit from about 6 sessions.

you can find a local one here http://www.aromatherapycouncil.co.uk/

good luck
