I took roaccutane when I was in my late 20's. I had always had bad acne since I was 13 or so. It got a bit better when I reached my late teens. But when I was 28 it was the same & I was sick of having adolescent acne so I went to a dermotologist. She said my acne was very "active", it was on my face, neck, back, bum & chest. So I agreed to the drug after her telling me the side affects. I also had to sign a form saying if I got pregnant whist taking the drug, I would be responsible for the baby maybe being deformed or whatever, not the drug company. I accepted all this.
I took it for nearly a year. The side affects for me were dry skin, eyes & lips. I had to always have a lip balm on. I had one or 2 nose bleeds that came out of nowhere but there wasn't much blood - nor did they last for long.
My acne became worse, then got better - so much better! Now I only have the odd pimple, mostly only when my period is due.
Roaccutane worked for me. The side affects for me were minimal, annoying at worst. I have never had children, so this claim that some woman who took the drug 5 years ago then had a deformed baby - I can't really comment on. BUT, I believe in co-incidence, perhaps the baby would have been deformed anyway. Like taking a homeopathic remedy & it curing your disease after western medicine failed - co-incidence.
But everyone is different. The side affects are therefore different for each person.
