I am an OAP and dont like fish, oily or otherise. I started to take cod liver oil tablets at tea time as a substitute. I think they will be good for me. As a child after the war, we used to get cod liver oil and rosehip syrup. Wish i could find some of that!

hi lyn, like you i dont eat fish and thought the cod liver oil tablets may be a good idea, although not a OAP i remember rosehip syrup and being given cod liver oil and were you given syrup of figs wheather you needed it or not ?
Cod liver oil or better still Omega 3 capsules would be a great idea. 1.000mgms daily would protect you against heart disease and possibly joint disorders.
you'd be better off eating sardines and mackerel a couple of times a week.
The more modern version for joints is Glaucosamine. Check out 'Healthspan', they do it the cheapest. Many sports people use it for joints.
I take Omega 3 Fish Oils 1,000mg once daily. I also take Calcium and Magnesium (both compounded into 1 tablet) twice a day and 1 garlic capsule for a healthy heart. I also buy the Omega and Garlic from Healthspan UK and the Calcium/Mag from www.worldwideshoppingmall.co.uk
