over the past few days i've had a strong burning sensation when i need to pass urine. i also noticed that there was blood in it too.
any ideas to what it could be? and will it pass? or should i see a doctor? i can't say i really fancy having someone having a 'probe' down there, so any advice would be greatly apreciated
n b ; having thrush does not cause blood in your urine re the burning may be a bladder infection, but this is not nhs 24, where you should be asking this question, hope your better soon
Sounds like cystitis (bladder infection. Go to see your GP as you will certanly need antibiotics. Only if it doesn't settle after a course of antibiotis would you need further investigation including "having a probe down there"
Poor old "Panic Button" who has rattled your cage today.
Would NHS direct be able to write prescription for antibiotics? Would NHS direct be able to refer to hospital for investigation? The advice would almost certainly be either to go to your GP next day or go to Casualty Dept.

Nat, .I hope you are OK. I particularly owe you an apology for the abruptness of my original answer. It was rude, but meant with the best of intentions.
