reusing water/soft drink bottles ?

what is the best way to wash the 500mls plastic bottles that u buy water in.....I find they are piling up in my office.... what is the best way to wash them without leaving any soapy taste in them....I want to fill up at tap at home and carry one or two with me for the days supply of water rather than paying a fortune for them at the shops in town....

Use diluted steralisng fluid (used for cleaning babies bottles)

Just rinse the mouth bit with tap water (if you drink directly from the bottle)

Otherwise I wouldnt bother

Or simply rinse them thoroughly with water after washing them ensuring all bubble residue has been washed away. Hopefully they won't taste of anything after that?

I read somewhere that they should NEVER be reused.
