i take arthrotec, which contains diclafenac but also either contains, or is coated in something which makes it less likely to upset your stomach. i always take these sorts of tablets with something really stodgy, like bread, or half way through a meal, and find this helps a bit. i do still have some stomach issues with them though. it's a trade-off isn't it? no pain but bad stomach! another thing i use from time to time (although they make me too woozy to take all the time, and constipated) is co-codamol.

thanks very much, I will give them a try
Have you thought of alternative remedies???
Hi Bronty
Try a chiropractor. I suffered for years and in desperation went to a chiropractor - never looked back !! Really well worth the effort
Good luck

I am seeing a chiropractor at the moment, as it is muscular as soon as I do any work it comes back . when I take diclafenac it goes away, but the doctor wont give me any more. The only thing to do is retire, I wish!
There is an abolutely brilliant book called Treat Your Own Back by Robin McKenzie which was recommended to me by a hospital based physiotherapist. It explains all the different types of injury and how best to treat them but the basis are the exercises are focused at improving the structure and metabolism of the soft tissue and discs. The exercises are easy to follow and takes you through step by step with pictures.I went down the road of painkillers and ended up very ill and am glad now I have found another way.
