Some years ago I joined a New Leaf programme to help me stop smoking. It was suggested that everytime I had the urge to light up, I took a sip of bottled water, as the urge peaks after 20-30 seconds. I found it worked for me. After a week, even being surrounded by other smokers didn't seem too bad, and several years on, I still don't crave a cigarette. it's cheaper & healthier than patches or other remedies, and if you really mean to give up, it's worth a try.
My brother has just given up and he finds sipping water really helps. Good luck.
my hubby has just quit using zyban which he has found absolutely brilliant.
