Hi toe, dont know about the swimming thingy cant see why not ,as for your job you should have recovery time, i dont know what it is for a vaginal hysterectomy, i had a full on one everything taken out thru a scar in my stomach and i went back to work after 3months, i am a support worker so i have to do some manual work, whats ure job a coal miner lol! if i can give you any advice i will only be to willing to help, but your doctor or consultant should be able to tell u just ask themx
These are questions for your GP and surgeon to answer.
I agree with Ethel. Your recovery rate depends a lot on you. As long as you do/don`t do what you`ve been told by your consultant you should be ok. If you take risks & do stupid things before seening your your consultant for your post op check-up, then your recovery will take a lot long time.
Your surgeon will discuss all of this at your pre-op appointment toecrusher and you will have the chance to ask all you need to know if he doesn't cover all your answers. Even after the op you will again be told all these again . All the best :-) x
Would suggest 3 months to go back to heavy work, gentle swimming can normally start after your 6 week check-up.
Keep up with the pelvic floor exercises!
