i have epilepsy and i take 20 tabs a day. 10 in a morning and 10 at night and i get bad side effects from them sometimes, but cant explain them to my doctor. i'm wondering if anyone else is going through what i'm going through?

My friend has epilepsy - takes 5 tablets morning and night - she is now 64. When she comes to me she drinks quite a bit and now I am scared of anything happening to her.
Some 5 weeks ago while she was drinking - I thought she was drunk but when I looked at the bottle there was not that much out of it however her speech began to slur as if it was a stroke = I nearly died. Can anybody enlighten me what happened here as I have not had her back since then but am supposed to have her for Easter.
