thank you for replying so quickly - much appreciated, are you saying that "elevated liver function" is drink/alcohol related only? or could it be due to something else?
elevated enzyme activity which can be a sign of liver damage,

usually by alcoj=hol or drugs etc.

It can be a sign of liver disease or damage, but not always - further tests are necessary.

If it is early stage liver damage, it is usually reversible by cutting cholesterol and alcohol, if alcohol is one of the causes.

Elevated liver enzymes can also indicate diabetes or obesity.

Talk to your GP for the best course of action.
