well its difficult to tell you what to say unless we know the problem, but have you thought about starting by saying "i have a delicate problem that i find it difficult to talk about ....."
I feel for you! i remember as a teenager going to the family planning clinic and not being aboe to get ANY words out at all, even though its allt hey did at the clinic

Well it would help if we knew what the problem was! My advice would be to just come out and say it. She will have seen and heard it a hundred times before and will not be embarassed.
another idea, which i have used before when i had to ask the most ultra embarrasing question ever of my consultant was i wrote it down on a piece of paper and handed it to her. then she gave me the answer
hey puddi. I suggest you write down the things you may forget to say when you get there. don't plan the whole conversation because it never works like that! remember that the doc has seen/heard it all before. just get in there and get it done. the doc will ask all the relevant questions so don't get worked up about it!

and good luck. you know, you can always get a diagnosis from the boys on here.. can you think of anything worse??! ;o)
at the end of the day, she is a Doctor and it will be the same as talking to a male Doctor. Think about the things we ladies have to discuss with male Docs all the time !
If it really bothers you that much, is there a male Doc who practices at your surgery.? You can request him ya know.. I have requested a female Doc before now, it isnt a problem.
Stop worrying . :-) If you do see her, approach her the same way you would a man, first and foremost they are a Doc and have seen and heard it all before.

my doctor and her doctor husband are both at my surgery lol!!!
Surely you just sit down and tell her how it is?I mean shes a doctor and youre not a schoolgirl so i think you just need to think over what you want to say , get into the doctors room and say it , im sure youll manage.
There are few shocks for doctors in the 21st century .
I mean looking at folk buying in the sex shop in tenerife the majority of british customers are in the 60 to 70s age bracket , and they have very little inhibitions.

Good luck : 0)

If its a menopausal question , I'm sure the doctor will be able to help and there's no need to be embarrassed at all.

Steady doctor!!!
Why are men always embarassed about telling their "delicate" problems to female doctors.

Think yourself lucky, as in my experience, most Gynaecologists tend to be men and I've lost count of the number of male doctors who have rooted around my nether regions.

Personally, it doesn't bother me and it shouldn't bother you. I'm sure your lady doctor has heard and seen it all before and probably worse too.
