i don't have a sore throat but keep getting a horrible taste from the back of my throat ..,,whats best way to get rid off if ?

You may have an infection - get your GP to have a good look.

just got a dentist app for thurs ..start with that first, was only at the dentist about 3 weeks ago .if its not that i will go doc ..sure i have dog breath !

You may have "silent reflux". Many do have this. It's what can cause heartburn but not everyone gets the burning. If it's worse in the morning or after lying down, this could be the cause and Gaviscon may help.
