Hi I actually posted question for weeks ago about this. My boyfriend has a lump on his hand. We thought it may be ganglion but it's rock hard.
Anyway went docs and didn't know what it was. so sent for xray. Then still didn't know so sent the xray to a specialist. Then he rang doc's yesterday and reception said it's normal and nothing else?
Thing is it causes him a bit of pain sometimes. It's on hand near to thumb. We wanted to know what it was so try reduce pain in it, and know what it is.
Can doc's just say that and not give a diagnosis?! What should he do now? There's some other doctors who work there so could he request to see them?
I atleast thought the specialist would have had a look at his hand, as he's only seen the xray. Can he demand for it to be removed is causing discomfort?
And yes susan1958 it looks like those-slightly smaller though, but like say it's rock hard like bone.
Doctor said it couldn't be ganglion as soft and squishy.
I had a ganglion on my foot about 10 years ago. It was rock hard and caused terrible pain. I used to be able to get rod of it by hitting it with a book and it would go for a while and then come back. eventually it was was removed. I am really suprised that they have not asked consultant to have a look at it too. Why does he not ask for a second opinion from the hospital? They will have to see him then - and that you ARE entitled to I am sure.
