cervical myelopathy

My partner has been diagnosed with cervical myelopathy, I have read all the bumph on the internet about it but wondered if anyone out there has had it....
He had an MRI which the neurologist said over the phone didn't show anything significant but he can't see us until April 20th to discuss in detail.
My partner doesn't get sick pay but as he is an engineer he equally cannot do his job, we are beside ourselves as to where this is going...we could end up losing our home, if he can't work. I was made redundant a few months ago.
Has anyolne had this...what treatment did you have...is there anyway back from this?
