Smearing the wall with pooh.

What does it mean if children smear pooh on the walls of their houses ,my friend's son who is 8 has HDAD, but is that a symptom of the disorder, she has a baby of one and a son of 13 who was also diagnosed with HDAD when he was younger, the baby is too young to be diagnosed, I told her she really needs to talk to a professional, books won't help him

Hi help me. I take it the 8 years old is smearing his pooh? My daughter (Asperger) did this when she was 9. We did'nt know at the time but she was being badly bullied in school and the pooh smearing was down to stress and anxiety. We got it all sorted once we knew and managed to find her another special needs school. She needed counselling which helped and the pooh smearing gradually stopped. Tell your friend about this it may help.

My daughter had a tic (head twitching) which was due to stress, I got her the help she needed and changed her school, now she is fine, but my friend does not seem to like getting outside help, personally I think it's the only option, I don't know what to tell her without upsetting her.

Do the kids have a social worker? I cant think why your friend does'nt want proffessional help,I know I was glad of it. Try to persuade her to take the child to the docs at least. You seem like a caring friend helpme.

me and my brother when we were 10 or so used to pooh on paper and smear it on neighbors cars. well we did it one time anyway!

Lots of people fear that if they reach out to agencies they will be judged bad parents and someone will scoop the kids away. Try to persuade her there are people who can help, and not to fear being judged,

chinadog I guess if 2 children smear their own pooh over their neighbours car then that is special needs? I am just trying to reassure the woman that normal people can be formed (like myself) after all this.

Thanks for all of your answers even yours BeatySwalls, but like I said he has HDAD so he is not "normal" He is quite a handful, swearing, fighting and very disruptive, I'm going to persuade her to see someone, if she does not listen there is not much I can do. Nobody is perfect I'll put my hands up to that, but when my daughter needed help I did not hesitate and I'm so glad I got it, but you are right mamyalynne there have been problems and social services have been involved with her older son in the past, I guess she is worried, it's a difficult one, but I fear for his future to be honest.
