I have been diagnosed with this for about 2 or 3 years and I only keep it bay with anti-diarrhoea tablets. However it is getting worse and tiring me and of course I am on edge when I get cut short which is often. My sister says the my bowels will stop working with taking these tablets.

What is a good diet for this complaint - thank you

Avoid:

whole grains
raw and dried fruits, sultanas, raisins, berries
broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, cabbage
all nuts and seeds

What you have to do is to find out the foods that make you worse and avoid them and what foods suit you well. This varies from person to person.

Buscopan and other anti-diarrhoea tablets are helpful, particularly if saved for special occasions..i.e when it would be very inconvenient to get "caught short"
there is also some thinking that onions and all corn products can make it worse.
have you tried googling 'diverticulitis'? there's loads of info out there about it, and about what to avoid and what to eat.
