Many years ago, twenty in fact, I had a bad attack of shingles on one side of my face - chin, temple, ear and jawline. The discomfort has never quite gone but I've been able to get on with life and ignore it. Now that I'm 'getting on in years' the discomfort has become much worse, feeling as though the nerves have been sandpapered. I'm thinking I'll have to go and see the Doc. but first I hope you don't mind that I ask if anyone has heard of this kind of thing before and what if anything might be done about it? Thank you.
Thank you Squad and Daffy. It has been interesting reading the links you gave, though I would have doubted that the problem could worsen after 20 years! At least its helpful to know something about it and I'll be off to see the Doc very soon.
I had shingles on the left side of my forehead 7 weeks ago and still have nerve pain and itchiness.I also now have excutiating pain in my left knee supposedly due to a trapped nerve. My doctor does not think the two are connected but I am not so sure !
