Gross question alert!

I had a baby 10 weeks ago and have just had my first period since. I had a normal delivery except a retained placenta which had to be removed in theatre. Today just as my period has almost finished I found what can be described as a small piece of tissue in my pants. I have been having mild cramps all day but don't know if this is related or I am catching a bug (as one of the kids I look after has one.) Has anyone else experienced this and is it normal or should I go to GP?

It was quite a large piece of tissue and I hadn't had a recent pregnancy and neither was I pregnant. I did have cramps with this particular period which was quite unusual for me. I took the tissue to my GP who sent it off for analysis and it was just normal womb lining. Sqad is probably right, but this is just to say that these things can happen and don't panic. It never happened again.
If it was me I would have a talk with my own GP or health visitor.
