Foot Pain

After having pain in the bottom of my foot for 3 or more years, I am waiting to see a podiatrist. I have read about Morton's Neuroma and the description exactly matches my problem. Has anyone had this, what treatment have you had, and if it was steroid injections - did it work.

No I haven´t had Morton´s metatarsalgia and for this reason I wasn´t going to answer, but as you have had no reply, then I wil.

Non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen work well, provided that you take care as to what sort of shoes to wear (You podiatrist will inform you)

If these fail, steroid injections are extremely helpful

In my experience operation is rarely required.

Many thanks for your answer Sqad. I have been taking strong ibuprofen for virtually the whole time, and also using a diclofenac cream prescribed by the doctor. I am, to be honest, fed up wearing flat wide fitting shoes with a thick sole, and towelling type socks, which seems to be the only way I can walk around throughout the day without being in a lot of pain. I have also bought shaped insoles to wear inside my shoes. I have been waiting for the appointment since March, so hopefully it won't be too long before I get to see someone who can help me.
