I tend to go to bed when i'm tired, not before.
I've always had trouble sleeping but i tend to have some good nights, then bad.
My worst night is a sunday cos i know i need to sleep because i've got work the next day.
Have you seen your Doctor about it?
If I didn't have a few glasses of wine, I would be the same and I can never go to bed before 1am, otherwise I would wake up about 5/6am and wouldn't be able to get back to sleep again.
I've tried everything as well. Given up bothering now as I don't work but it must be awful if you do. I can stay awake for 48 hours and then sleep for 16. Husband has just had to get used to it.
yes, stop obsessing about how much or how little you sleep. people spend far too long counting hours, thinking about what time they woke/got to sleep, how tired they are.
just chill, ignore it. once it's not such a big part of your life it may get better.
I would guess during your nursing career you worked nights....as did I...what worked to make you sleep during the day should work now.at night ..mostly get absolutely exhausted....body and brain...something carby like toast or porridge and black out your bedroom completely....of course it might just be that age related reduced sleep requirement in which case enjoy having more time to do things..
