The previous "Weight Gain" thread can be found here
I thought I'd set this up for everyone here as the other thread no longer appears in the latest posts box.

The last discussion was about ways to do exercise

Personally, I like running, cycling and squash - but I know one day I will have to give some of these activities up as I am plagued with "Dodgy Knee Syndrome".

Also, for those who exercise a lot, do you ever feel you are doing so just to justify the awful things you consume the rest of the time?

I hope everyone reports in okay! Good luck! And click here to subscribe by email!

Hi Looobylooo and everyone. That's a good idea about keeping your stepper handy. I have an ab-cradle and I shall put it near the TV and will try to use it for a few mins every day. If I see it there it will remind me to use it.
Freecycle is brilliant isn't it. I have joined recently and got a few bits and pieces for my son, and have given a TV away on it.
Thanks for this Ed. I exercise (and hate getting started in the early morning) because it gives a kick start to the metabolism and I guess in the long run it will keep me from getting too creaky. I don't do a lot but 15 min every day.
I can see there has been a lot of activity since I last checked in. That's good. Well tomorrow is another day of reckoning and despite having been out twice this week I have been ever so good, but haven't started m exercises as yet and will wait a couple of days more until my back is 100%.
Notafish...I can recommend Rosemary Connley's Low Fat step by step cook book. You can probably get it at the library for a look through to see if it suits you.
I so agree with Windella to make a meal plan for the entire week. It's easy and then that job is out of the way. Onwards and downwards !!

Nope, but it is handy for keeping track!

Everyone here "weighs in" on Wednesday and lets us know how much they've changed (good or bad) and what their target is (i.e how much they want to lose).

You don't have to declare your current weight at any point, but it is good to keep an eye on the change (and confess to any cake-based sins).

All the best,

Spare Ed
Hi Ed I see we have had a move .Hi Xstitcher Notafish .I hope we do better on this one as quite a few didn't carry on. As far as I know TRT 3 eggs in the week are the limit but it might be different in some weight plans. See you tomorrow Onwards and Downwards
I feel hopefull for tomorrow. I've had a chocolate biscuit and a welsh cake today, but in general feel I've been good. Good luck everyone.
Good Morning well I have stayed the same but that is how I go with my weight loss. I was intending to lose 2 stone before my birthday end of Oct but I am still 4 lb short of that but I am not letting it worry me as staying the same is better than gaining. I need to lose another stone to get to 13stone. I have just reached 13st 13 lbs.and never put on since I started just a few stay the sames.I know why I haven't lost this week as I did not do a proper shop last week as I was using up bits from my freezer but all armed tomorrow Asda here I come. Hope to see our regulars and a few more. Onwards and Downwards
Hello Everybody, I hope you have found our new place which is more aptly named due to our kind editor.

Well my report today is same as last week. I have had 2 restuarant meals so I am quite pleased. My OH has put on 1 kilo so I am more than happy but have been watching those snacks and stitcking to portions also.

Last night we had steamed white fish with white dill sauce. It was delicious. I served it with green asparagus and a small tin of new potatoes (just enough for two people) and cooked carrots which I always add cinnamon to the water as the Spaniards do and it really gives a lovely flavour. I used one fish fillet each because they shrink quite a bit in the steaming. I have a steamer but you can buy the little metal ones you put in a pot and they work just as well.

Hi Wendilla, Just 4 pounds to your goal.....that is just so clever of you. If you think back to how you were feeling last year and how you are feeling now I'll bet you feel like jumping up and down with glee.

I was thinking that instead of thinking........didn't change this week ........I shall think about how much I Have accomplished and keep on going. I shall never let myself get back to what I was.

I must admit that for the first 6 months we cut our socializing down to minimum because of my special meals, but since then we are back to normal and I can adjust to what I should eat, but I do think when you begin you really need to stick to your new eating regime.
hI xstitcher that is how I look at it . I am not going to undo all the good work I have done . I am not at my total goal that was my first goal to get 2 stone off before my birthday end of oct. All in all I want to get to about 10 and a half and yes this time last year I was buying floppy jumpers to hide the bulges.so it's Onwards and Downwards for a few months yet.
I cant really tell how much I have lost in the last 2 weeks as my scales have broke, but bought new ones yesterday, but I feel I have lost a few pounds around my belly.

I only had bran fruit cereal yesterday for breakfast and a jacket potato with a small tin of tuna. Is that OK for losing weight?
Sorry, the jacket potato with a small tin of tuna was for dinner.
Hi everyone, I didn't lose anything this week. I need to try harder. What I have decided to do is keep a diary of what I eat, not eat anything after 8pm and to spend less time on Answerbank. When I get onto answerbank I just get carried away reading the jokes and looking at the puzzles and before I know it I've spent an hour or two just sitting down. I need to lose about seven pounds, which doesn't sound much, but in all this time that I've been trying, I've lost four pounds so far. It's very slow.
Hi TRT yes the tuna fish is fine but make sure it is the one in water or brine and not the one in oil.
Notafish that is what I do and suggested this on the other thread with xstitcher to write everything down daily then it gives you a better idea to work your menus out for the week.
Hi Wendilla, it was your idea about writing things down. But it takes me a while to get round to things. I started writing things down yesterday, and it puts me off eating a biscuit cos I know I'll have to write it down ;-)
