Sorry for the stupid title, didn't really know how else to put it! My 11mth old has conjuncitvitus and I've been using the eye drops which have almost cleared it up. However yesterday he was at docs and has been given antibiotics for an ear infection. I was just wondering out of curiosity would this make his eyes better too or do I still need to force the eye drops into him which is an ordeal for us both?

Two different types of action....drops like cream or ointments are called topical as they act "on top" so to speak.....are not appreciably absorbed into the blood stream.

Antibiotics given by mouth are absorbed into the blood stream before they get to their destination of action...e.g the ear.

Give the eye drops another day as the ear antibiotics will have no effect on his eyes.
