We're getting close to Christmas! Traditionally this is what you've been losing weight for (in anticipation) - is it going to be tiny portions on Christmas day, or are you thinking "Sod it, it's Christmas!" (Although I am thinking that already - all downhill from here!)

I'm not impressed by all the keep-fit equipment suddenly appearing in Argos and charity shop windows!!! LOL

Afternoon all!

I hope everyone is planning to get back on track after some indulgences over the festive period. I certainly can't wait for the light to come back in the evenings so I can get back out on the bike and get running again.

Have just bought myself some Yak Traks so that I can start running (and keep it up when the snow / ice starts.
Haven't run since October, so managed to put on 1.5 stone :(

Will take it off by March at the latest :)
Yes boxtops and have you noticed in the supermarket all the weight watchers meals get reduced . I don't use them all the time but I like to keep a few in freezer just for emergency if I am back late
I dread getting on the scales tomorrow morning. We had a very good New Years Eve and I didn't hold back on the food, well knowing I will meet my day of reconing. Tomorrow the truth will out (my treats were worth it though)
Both my back and knee are fit again so I have started with my exercises again which makes me feel good. Good weigh in tomorrow everybody. Onwards and downwards.
Morning All, Nothing to report. I got on the scales and nothing happened , so I changed the batteries and now it has gone haywire so will have to wait until hubby gets up to hear what he has to say and will try again tomorrow. :-(
morning XSTITCHER and a happy new year to you and everyone. Well I dreaded weighing this morning. I was going to leave it till next week and have a really good start but surprise surprise I have stayed the same but that does not mean I am out of the woods . I have to shift that 2lbs I have put on first.I really do have to get back as my target now is that other stone by the middle of feb. and that will give me a steady average of 2lbs a week.Onwards and Downwards all to a good loss this year.
Hello everyone I'm ten stone again, so I've lost the two pounds I put on at Xmas. But since I've been on this Onwards and Downwards quest, the lowest I've weighed is nine stone twelve. so really I should be ashamed of myself. I still have half a stone to lose before I'm at my goal weight. It's going very slowly for me due to my lethargy.
Good luck for next week everyone :-)
Hello Everybody, We bought a new bathroom scales yesterday and this morning despite my sinning I was down 100 grams....not much, but definitely not what I expected. Hubby was the same weight as with the old scales so we figure it is correct.
Off to visit family this weekend especially our twins and the new granddaughter so now I really need every ounce of self control when at the breakfast buffet at my hotel. Hubby not being there leaves me free to sin.....help.
I think Wendilla you are a great role model for all of us. You have done so well.

Onwards and downwards............
Hi xstitcher have a super time with your family. Don't get me wrong I really have to work hard at getting this weight off and a few blips and it starts to go on again but I do know what to do by eating properly it is just keeping to it but xmas is my excuse.for this 3lbs. I still have a Burns night party to do nearer the end of the month so got to be good as that is haggis if you know what that is all about and fancy food. Onwards and Downwards
Ah yes, the Haggis Wedilla. I have tried it and don't think I would have any problems keeping to a very, very small portion of it! lol

Has anyone seen these scales? They measure your body fat and other things, do you think they work?

Spare Ed
I hope that £19.72 one is good, cos I've just ordered it! My scales are hard to read anyway, so I did want new scales. This will be the incentive I need to lose my half a stone. BTW I love haggis and I'm going a Burn's Night too. :-)

I think it is one of the better looking ones at least NotAFish. Do they tell you your BMI etc do you think?

I know living on the scales is a bad way to loose weight, but it seems like having a good set will help you measure things properly. Does anyone keep a chart or a planner for this kind of thing?
I chose that one cos it was the second cheapest. I don't know if it has BMI on it. The actual cheapest one had bad reviews. Since I ordered my one a few mins ago, the price seems to have gone up. It says it's out of stock, I hope I get one though.
I only go on the scales Wednesday mornings. My old scales have been frustrating me cos they're so temperamental and it was hard to see if I was losing weight or not. And I just write my weight in the diary. I did monitor what I was eating, for a week, on Wendilla's advice just so I could read over what I'd been eating and see where I was going wrong. Also the very act of having to write it down, made me not bother to have a biscuit when I fancied one, cos I thought it's a nuisance to go find my diary and note it down. :-) This thread has good tips in it!
I kept a chart for the first 7 months or so and now I just write it down on the hard back of my grocery shopping list paper. I plan my meals by the weak and shop after the plan which makes it really easy and if I buy anything not on the list the first thing I look at is the fat contents. Any thing over 6% doesn't get bought. I have lots of baby carrots for filling the hunger pangs. I can't have anything like nuts that I love in the house. My will power will go out the window so I make it easy for myself by simply not stocking them. I know that over a certain weight my BMI is going the wrong way and likewise under a certain weight it is normal for me.
That's my motto aafter looking at it when shopping IF I DON'T BUY IT I CAN'T EAT IT.
Started my calorie controlled diet today.

I'm hungry!
Oh poor you Tigerblue 10.....we all know the feeling. I chew on the baby carrots when things get too tough and drink lots of water. Your stomach will get used to being given less but it is hard, we're all behind you here. Onwards and downwards...........
