What is the best mix of sessions for a fitness programme of running and cycling? I plan to train 6 days a week with one day off. I was thinking of 4 running sessions and 2 longish cycle rides(20 miles) on alternate days. I also cycle 3 miles a day to work(round tripp)

If its to improve stamina we used to do a lot of fartlek for Orienteering competitions. This involved a distance running hard followed by jogging, alternately. Is it possible to cycle a long way round to work, involving a steepish climb. Good luck! Where we live that means going in any direction as hills cannot be avoided.
