for the last few days, as the day has gone on ive got a terrible pain from my jaw, up side of face, across to eye socket and forehead and down side of nose.
the rest of the time my eye feels as if its been removed from my head, bashed about a bit and shoved back.
Ive started taking my one a day antihistamines and paracetomol but i cant shift the initial ache on corner of eye and side of nose :( the pain is again building up today.
Im flying next week and i get pains in my jaw when flying as it is so am dreading it.
any ideas how to shift it?
ps, sqad, i cant take ibuprofen :)

lol. wishful thinking then. Actually, when i was a kid my jaw used to really crack loudly, dentist said he would break and re-set it (er i dont blinking think so) but it hasnt done it for 20 years or so.
Any painful condition. 2 Paracetamol tabs every 6 hours ( = 4 times in 24 hours ) if pain is very severe take codeine as well ( as you can also take 2 codeine every 6 hours =4 times in 24 hours ) you can in circumstances of extreme severity take these painkillers alternately ie. 2 paracetamol, then 3 hours later 2 codeine, then 3 hours later, the 2nd dose of 2 paracetamol, then 3 hours later, the 2nd dose of codeine, etc etc in every 24 hours, as long as you always leave 6 hours between similar tablet doses.
Ron....what strength Paracetamol tablets and what strength Codeine tablets would that regime involve?

ive got cocodamol (think thats the name) in cupboard from when i gave birth. But they send me a bit dizzy.
paracetomol seems to be doing trick today so am hoping its going away now :)
Codeine/cocodomol and any codeine products make me hallucinate really badly - usually see spiders all over the room. Very unpleasant!!!

yuk, scary. i only took about 3 in the days after i was given them and one when feeling really bad about 6 months later. Id only take them before bed if i really needed to now i think
They don't even ease pain for me and keep me awake because of the scary hallucinations. I first had them when I had my son and had a caesarian. I didn't know what what happening, just saw spiders and kept seeing my son being whisked off to the special care baby unit. Really vivid and real to me. In fact my son was beside me and obviously there were no spiders. When the consultant came to see me and asked if I was OK, I told him I couldn't rest because of the spiders and he immediately took me off codeine.

Then a few years later I put my back out and the doctor sent me some cocodomal - I didn't think and took them - and the bloomin' spiders were all over the bedroom again.
LL. those are some good cigarettes you are smoking !!!!!!! codeine makes some people constipated !
you can't make up 1300 mg of paracetamol either. They come in 500 mg tablets here.
sqad. 500mg Paracetamol, 30mg Codeine. Ron.
Ron...thanks.
I have to be different Anne! Actually, it's pretty horrible. I am going to ask my doctor to make a note that I don't want codeine/morphine ever given to me in circumstances where I may not be able to communicate.

If that is what weed does, then I am glad I don't partake.
Codeine gives me the eebies as well Lottie, really unpleasant, I took it that mine were due to previous drug abuse etc, but apparently not given this thread, just as you said hallucinations and a feeling of totally surreal paranoia. Nasty.
NOX. My GP said there is a percentage of people that this happens too. I have never taken 'drugs' except medicinal.

I agree reaction to codeine is just Nasty.
