Restless leg syndrome! Aaahh anyone found any relief from it?

I have always suffered periodically from it, and now I'm pregnant it's worse! Anyone ever found anything to relieve it? ( my doc is aware of it but it would appear " there's nothing serious causing it")

Tonic water is meant to be good if you can have that (I can't stand the stuff) but it's a natural source of quinnine but not sure if it'd have the same effect if it's pregnancy related or whether it's ok for you to have as you're pregnant.

Thanks for answers! A bath and tonic/bitter lemon sound good (particularly if there's gin in there too) . . . Damn forgot I was pregnant there for a mo ;-) it feels like my leg muscles aren't long enough for my bones, and you have this uncontrollable urge to "jiggle" them . . . It usually passes after a couple of weeks (fingers crossed)
Jenna, I think you will find the Tonic Water thing a bit of a phalacy, Tonic water used to contain Quinine, Hence the word "Tonic" these days Im not sure if there is any quinine in Tonic water, if there is its certainly not enough to have any medicinal benefit.
Ive certainly never found anything that helps me.

I'm diabetic, and have neuropathy in my feet as well as restless legs, and the only thing that helps me is amitriptyline - but you'd have to get it from your doctor, and you may not wish to take prescription drugs whilst you are pregnant. I've also found that a relaxing bubble bath helps my legs at night too.
