and breathe, they say a new broom sweeps clean but why is a new work colleague bugging the crap out of me, they strut around thinking they own the place, I have been there many years yet they join and act like they know everthing to the point that I dont exist there anymore lately, no one asks me things anymore or advice on work related issues....its really like i dont belong there ...or what am i doing there, and to top it all, they know my favourite car that i cant afford and have told me they bought one !! Whats that all about ??
Easier said than done Purple .. but let it go over your head. Don't worry, eventually this new colleague will grate on 'everyones' nerves! Just wait and watch!
It's really upsetting me, i feel like the office junior all of a sudden...but what is it about the car thing which is really freaking me out, if Id said any make of car i liked i bet they would have bought that one....
perhaps your being a little over sensitive here - i can't say that i know anyone with enough money or stupidity to buy a car based on the fact that they know someone else wants the same one. Looks as though your more upset that other people aren't asking you for help anymore .... try and rise above it and hope theyleave soon! x
pp - we all know a new broom sweeps cleaner but remember - an old broom knows where the dirt is - bide your time , your experience may well come in useful in a while.
I have put it down to insecurity on their part, they are older than the rest of us in the office....and they often come out with words like 'oh so and so has just hugged me' or 'so and so has just called me 'love'.....
That's exactly what it is Purple. You need to detach yourself .. let them drone on and on and on... this person 'will' eventually irritate everyone they come in to contact with.
Just carry on in your own way PP, you know that you have the experience and the knowledge of the company. Let them think that they know it all, they will trip themselves up somewhere along the line and get fed up of play acting. Is there anyone else there who knows what is going on who can commiserate with you? Personally I would wait to see what a fool they make of themselves, then have a laugh.
Unfortunately though, once they start to bug everyone else, all that'll happen is you'll all be driven mad by this person. I have someone at my work that drives us all insane, but she's going nowhere and she's got about 15 years of work left before she retires... :(
