The Feet and Fish thing
14 Answers
Daughter and I out shopping today and decided on spur of moment to go and get our feet cleaned by the fish. Turned out we couldn't because you can't have it if you've put varnish on toes or removed it in the previous 48 hrs.
I hadn't heard of this before, anyone else been told this?

Do people have to wash their feet before putting them in? Does anyone check for athlete`s foot, veruccas etc? I`ve seen those tanks in places like shopping malls and the Ideal Home exhib - places where successive hot, sweaty feet have been plunged into the same water. It turns my stomach just a tad..
I've been, and yes they did check our feet and they pre washed them. We then had to wear our own disposable flip flops to walk around in. It was clean and hygenic and the whole experience was relaxing and beneficial. My feet were lovely and smootha nd rid of much of the dry skin.
But we were in a small salon rather than one of the shopping malls where its all less personal and more like herding cattle through a foot bath.

I've been twice (in two different salons), Prudie. On both salons' websites it said to come sans nail polish, so we did, but no one else bothered to remove theirs and were still allowed in. Had to pre-wash our feet in one of the salons and have them checked for any cuts, but not in the other. They both had filtration systems. The fish are definitely "hungrier" and more effective first thing in the morning rather than late afternoon.
