Just been put on medication that apparently can cause an increase in triglycerides (whatever they are). Therefore, what foods should I eat in moderation / avoid?

The Pharmacist said that the tablets may make me put on a lot of weight (his wording) but would this be the case if I stuck to the same foodstuffs as usual?

Omega 3 fatty acids (found in oily fish like mackerel) are supposed to reduce triglycerides. Also exercise can be effective.
It`s mainly carbohydrates that should be limited - bread, pasta, potato etc and of course sugar laden products.
Triglycerides are fat.

Reduce the amount of ft in your diet.

The only drugs that i know that causes a rise in triglycerides steroids and some contraceptive pills.

Don't get "hung up" on the advice of the pharmacist..... just eat whatever you want....sensibly.

Thank you everyone! The pharmacist said I could put on 2+ stones which wasn't very helpful.

You have now put my mind at rest (pun intended) as on Quetiapine XL.
Try to have a half hour exercise per day, ideally walking...fresh air and good for the soul as well as for the body and helps reduce fat!!
Didn't know that that drug raised the blood triglyceride levels....one lives and learns.........
Just read this, never knew quetiapine did this? Like sqad says learn new things all the time :-) x
