Right. This is now going to sound absolutely rubbish, but I'm not even sure why I asked, because I can't really help or offer any kind of advice.
The reason I did ask, is that I've got a scar and, after 4 months, I still have this dull ache there.
I would say visit your GP. Sorry, that has to be the worst AB answer ever! :-(
Bio Oil, gently rubbed into any scar will ease the pain, and help fade the scar quicker. I had a hip replacement and a year later the scar was barely noticeable.
Personally as long as the wound is looking ok, its not red or hot or swollen I would have thought it is ok, however a call to the department that carried out the op would put your mind at rest.
What sort of operation was it? Is it a port site from a laparoscopic (keyhole) procedure? It could be an undissolved suture that is in an odd position or wound site hernia.
If it persists you'd be best to consult your GP.
Thanks Ratter. The scar is very pink/purple and a little dry but I think it looks as it should. I'm always worried about wasting the time of medical people.
