Last night I started to get toothache and it's worse today. I have booked an appointment with the dentist but the earliest they can do is next Thursday. I've taken some Paracetamol but it hasn't helped. Any ideas what I can try or take, to cope until then? Does Bonjella work? Should be flossing or avoiding the area? Help appreciated!!

phone the dentist again an ask to be called if they get a cancellation if its a hole with a raw nerve bonjela will help as will the old remedies like oil of cloves or toothache tincture which is cloves plus some other stuff...
Clove oil is best thing for toothache short term

Cost you under 2 quid from any chemists.

Just put a bit on your finger and rub it in
Get a small tube of Orajel from Boots for Rapid Relief of Toothache, it make your tooth numb and painless quicker than anything else, similar to an injection.
You can buy a temporary cement from a chemist, that is like putty with oil of cloves in it,use a little to fill the hole-the oil of cloves soothes, while the putty help stop anything getting in there.
Good luck
Try some toothpaste

Thanks all- I got some clove oil and you're right- it really does help numb the pain, but also get rid of a degree of it. PHEW. Still going to the dentist asap!
I have ongoing tooth pain as I am having orthodontic treatment and I find co-codamol is the only painkiller that touches it.
