Imaginary friend

Maybe this just comes from being an only child, but did anyone else out there have an imaginary friend??  Mine was called "Pilleck" and he did lots of bad stuff that got me into trouble, but he was my buddy and I kinda miss him....

I was an only child too and had two imaginary older brothers called Rick and John.  They stayed around for a good few years.  I was never lonely - just always wanted older brothers.

My sister had an imaginary friend call Nunky - how we laughed at his antics at night - we are a family of 7 + 2 adopted so it's not a single child thing.

Come to think of it - my sister also named her bosoms when they developed so maybe she's not a good example lol

i had an imaginary rabbit. and i told santa i was called "kylie" when i was 3 (yes, as in minogue)... and my little sister introduced herself as "kimberley" when she started school, because that was her favourite power ranger.

and i did have an imaginary friend too. hehe, pilleck.

I had an imaginary friend who had an imaginary aunt....I am youngest of 3 so maybe that explains it?

I had two imaginary pet dogs called Spot and Patch. Now I have two real dogs but secretly I prefer the imaginary ones.

I didn't, but my son has a 'friend' called Charlie.  Strangely, Charlie always seems to be involved in any incidents of naughtiness but not much else!

It's funny how imaginary friends do get kids into mischief, but Pilleck really was real to me and I just couldn't understand how my parents couldn't see him.  I can actually remember getting into the car and my Dad going to pull away, with me shouting, "NO!!  Pilleck isn't in the car yet."  Philtaz I guess you just have to let it ride with your little guy - he will be as real to him as I am to you...well, bad example I guess, but you know what I mean.

I think it is quite common and occurs at the time that young children are naming objects and giving them personalities. I remember my niece maintaining brell - the unmbrella was a person and not a thing.

Mine was called Big Frog but he was neither big nor a frog, he was a man with a silver bit over his mouth to breath through, bit like Darth Vader, strange yes!!

I wonder if any two unrelated people could have the same imaginary friend???

My imaginary friend was called Dingy (?).  He lived in the attic and came out to play with my every day.  However at night time I was scared of him and always ran past the attic hatch in case he came to get me.  Weird!!!

BondGirl - you say you miss your imaginary friend. As he's imaginary, he's only gone for as long as you decide he's gone - he could always return ;-)

Just make sure there's no-one else around when he does!

when i was 2 yrs old i also had an imaginary freind called dicey and she had purple hair, this used to frighten my mum alot, she thought it was a ghost. i wasnt the only child i had a brother 18 months younger then me.

I come from a family of 8, so i was by no means alone. Both my sister  one up from me and myself had imaginary friends.

Mine was called Marshall. I only vaguely remember him. I was 5 when he went. I don't remember if I used him as a fall guy for my miss deeds.
