My teeth are out!!!
27 Answers
Hi all, just an update for those kind people who responded to my question a couple of weeks ago. I think this has been the most raumatic experience of my life, the Dentist (butcher) couldn't get a canular in so I had no sedation only injectins in my mouth, 19 teeth removed. The pain since has been unbelievable I now have an infection and a dry socket (whatever that is). I left hospital half an hour after the alst tooth was removed and told to take paracetamol and I would be fine. The Dr has prescribed penicillin and tramadol because the surgery was undertaken at hospital an hours drive away. I can't get my dentures in and think I have spent most of the tiem since the op on Monday crying with pain, I am so tired and in a low mood I dont know which way to turn I'm sorry this isn't really a question is it but I thought it might help me to get this off my chest a little. Take care all xx

I got mine by rinsing my mouth out and dislodging the blood clot that forms in the gap where the tooth has been extracted, before the 24 hour period, they say you should wait.
I ended up on 2 types of antibiotics.
You are a hero for having 19 teeth removed all at the same time, and with no sedation - they would have to knock me on the head with a brick to do that to me.
I wish you better. Den xx

poor you, really hope you feel better soon-i had a 'dry socket' years ago,I was crying so loudly my (then 9) son woke up,and came to see what was wrong (bathroom between our rooms),he got me frozen peas, and I lay on my side with peas on cheek and felt better, went to hosp (now primary care) got antibiotics, and got nurofen from chemist, the next day went to dentist-he said I had a dry socket-it didn't bleed-he cut my gum,and although yak, the pain went. try the frozen peas. x
That is dreadful. And personally, I think unacceptable. I only had one tooth out and am still getting pain with the new denture after two months. I've been back to the dentist but get fed up with going back so I am trying to put up with it. Teeth are nothing but a problem from the time you are born to the time you lose them all. Hope it soon settles down mary - at least as you have had them all out you won't have to go through it again.
