Tendonitis, or not?

Over the last few weeks I have had pain in the third finger of my right hand, mainly when I have to grip something. The pain is only in the finger and not the joint to the palm. There is no redness and only a very slight swelling of the finger around the joint. It is worse first thing in the morning. I have to take Voltaren 75 morning and evening anyway, so I have tried Almiral gel , an anti inflammatory , and applied it to the finger , but with no noticeable effect. I don't think that it is tendonitis, but does anyone else have any thoughts please?

///Tendonitis, Or Not?//

Not.

Take Ibuprofen 600mms twice daily and monitor the situation.

Squad,
Thank you for your swift response. The problem that I have with 'Brufen is that I have been taking it since my first hip replacement I have had the same hip "done about 8 times) in 1988 (it kept "popping out") and my current Doctor said that enough was enough and changed me on to Voltaren. The other problem is that I live in Cyprus and cannot get Brufen 600 only 400. I know that I could take three lots of 400 but I am still concerned that going back to Brufen would be a bad idea.
Yepp!....quite a problem. I can only suggest that you continue the gel and monitor the situation. Keep us informed.
