Hi all, I am totallu unfit and my local gym is under going refurbishment, so I am thinking of investing in a Wii machine with appropriate games as a tool to help me lose weight and tone up. Now my question is , does anybody have one and do you use it to exercise ? I don't have a games console of any kind, nor do friends or family, boring lot we are or I could have tried one. ! Any recommendations would be appreciated.

thanks for that 4getmenot, the money I would have paid for my gym subscription for the year I may well invest in a Wii !
A Wii is highly recommended ! Great fun, lots of variety of exercises and you can do some of them (jogging/step) while watching your fave tv programmes ! The time goes really fast too and the cycling is really good.
cycking annoying me at moment. I cant get to the last flag! Ive got a few dance games to and dance mat, great fun!
oh forget, yes, the last flippin flag !! I got there in the end after 3.5 hours of furious peddling !!
i know where it is on map just cant get there. Keep going in that cave but not there!
Often thought of getting one for that. Never sure how good it would be though, so haven't bothered. (Besides it always seems to come with games that are of no interest included in the price.) Wii has been around for a few years now, is there not a better 'get fit' console system on the market, or does it have the market to itself? How does it compare to 'real' gym type equipment?
Zumba for the Wii is brilliant. It's tough going but great fun and you definitley lose weight with it. :)
I absolutely love mine. Wii fit plus has some great excercise games hula hoop, running, jogging, stepping, my best is the obstacle course great fun. You can check body weight at any time charts on it for everything you can set your targets as you want.
I think it's a good idea and less likely than the gym to get boring. We got the original wii fit and the wii fit plus when it came out they are both good fun. infact of all the games we have it's the Wii fit ones people want to play when they come over. I love the dance one too.
Go through the tunnel ride up the bank and its almost in front of you if its the one that looks like its just ahead...its more to the left
The best way to lose weight is to go walking! Won't cost you a bean and the fresh air will do you the power of good!
Walking is indeed a good option provided it is kept up on a daily basis. But in the colder wetter months, enthusiasm tends to wane somewhat.
I just read some blogs, in which some jogger recommendated the wii machine for their personal indoor fitnessprogramm. i couldnt believe it, but they use it :)
Wii Fit is good and so is EA Sports Active. I bought them when my gym closed and I was losing weight to get married and I lost nearly 3 stone with the wii as my sole source of exercise!
4lb gone in a week with Wii Fit ... highly recommended.
