I have one double jointed knee that bends backwards about half a foot as well as forwards. the other used to be the same but I had an op on that leg and physiotherapy so it "cured" it. is there any excercise I can do to make the other one not double jointed too? It's great for party tricks but a pain in the (leg?) when I'm trying to stand up straight or touch my toes, as that leg will always bend backwards too far and hurt me. Has anyone else got double jointed legs?

Double jointedness is also called hypermobility. I have HMS - hypermobility syndrome. This causes just about every joint to be 'double jointed',so yes, I do have double jointed legs! It's doubtful you've got the syndrome, as it affects most joints and causes frequent dislocations, but the treatment for one joint is the same as the syndrome - strengthen the muscles surrounding the joint to hold it in place. If you know a physiotherapist, ask them for advice. If not, you'll have to do some research. There is a brilliant website, but not sure if I'm allowed to post the address? Search on google for the HMSA and it should come up. If nothing else, it's interesting reading.
