My stomach, (the area between underneath my bust and my waist) is always bloated, even when I get up in the morning before I've even eaten.
When I stand sideways, that part of my stomach sticks out more than any other part of me.
If I was a man I would say I have a beer belly.
It spoils the look of any clothes I wear as I look pregnant in everything.
GP says I probably have IBS well I don't know about that but I do know it really gets me down.
Have been wondering about buying the Slendertone belt that's been advertised on TV recently.
Do you think it would help?
I used to have a similar problem so my nutritionist suggested I stopped eating yeast - bread, mushrooms, anything with vinegar or alcohol. I've been tons better since and no swollen tum unless I slip up and eat something I shouldn't. Good luck in getting it sorted.
That's bad Miss P, would have thought your doc would have suggested or prescribed something if you have IBS. Slendertone belt would obviously help but it only masks the problem. Time to speak to the doc again?
I've put on weight and I've developed a spare tyre in that area missprim, I get a lot of indigestion and heartburn, and I'm finding it harder to bend. I think my problem is eating too much bread, pastry and fatty stuff and not enough exercise. I really keep meaning to start doing more to get rid of the excess. I think I have IBS too.
GP just told me to avoid high fibre foods but if I do that I become constipated.
I have been considering stopping bread in fact I've only got 6 slices left and then I will stop buying it.

Don't drink alcohol even at Christmas so I know it's not that.
askyourgran I have started getting heartburn and indigestion too and if I have to bend down to fasten shoe laces I feel like I can't breath.
The other worrying thing is when I lie on my side in bed I get these strange palpitations and sometimes I feel quite nauseous.

I would really prefer to find out if it is a certain food that causes this rather than spend my money on something that doesn't work and will start by avoiding bread see how that goes.
This sounds exactly like what my mum was like. Her doctor told her to cut out caffeine and it really helped. Even if she has one cup of coffee her stomach will bloat, almost immediately.
Try to cut out bread cakes and pastry, and don't eat before going to bed. Your heart has to work harder when you eat, and I find I can't get off to sleep if I eat late in the evening and go to bed feeling bloated. I don't seem to digest my food as quickly lately either but drinking water helps. I'm looking for some waist defining exercises to do.
been there, done that, with the belts and other stuff. It's a nice sensation (unless you up the power accidentally and paralyse yourself) but they are a gimmick you'll soon get fed up with.
What you have is called love handles or belly fat. The best way of getting rid of it is through regular exercise which focuses more on your belly.
You need t be consistent to get good result from it. I once had a cousin who had ove handles but was able to get rid of those fat through exercise in addition with a supplement he found on this site http://www.healthyliv...of-love-handles-fast/
She drinks caffeine free tea and coffee. Cola has to be caffeine free as well. Tia Maria also sets it off but she has it on occasion lol!
It's impossible to cut it all out completely. Some cafes for example don't serve decaf so she just has to put up with a bloated stomach for the rest of the day. But she is much better overall, both her stomach and she gets IBS less than she used to as well :-)
Many people have a mild gluten intolerance, which causes bloating. I bake spelt bread for some friends with this problem. Spelt is the ancestor of modern wheat - the Romans ate it. It's a nutty flavoured bread, you can get it in supermarkets these days, well worth a try.
Agree with the posters who are betting on a wheat ot yeast intolerance avoid for about 3 weeks then try reintroducing it if the bloating comes back you will have your culprit if that doesn't work try three weeks without dairy next thats the other common one
Missprim I get IBS and had the bloated belly like you, someone recommended Multibionta vitamins with probiotics to me, I started taking them a year ago and the bloating went down considerably. You need to keep a food diary to see what actually affects you, I struggle terrible with cooked onions which is a right pain as I love them, also if I eat a lot of vegetables at the same time. Peppermint tea is also great for helping with IBS symptoms.
