Bad Back

Hello,
Hoping someone might be able to tell me what is wrong with my back. I woke up about a week ago and found that I have sharp pains in the bottom of my spine/tops of my legs when I am standing. No pain at all when I lie down or sit down.
If I walk it is sore, and when I stand still I get sharp pains which make me flinch.
I can't remember doing anything which would cause this, and I don't think it's sciatica as when I had that many, many years ago, the pain was overwhelming and went down the back of only one leg. This shoots either side, but not down my legs.

A bad back is horrid - really gets you down. Just wanted to sympathise. And agree with the SqadDoc.
