I worked with a guy that all the women" flower" no-one took offence, it's a term of endearment, where some people say "love" "chuck" "sweet". Met up with him on a reunion night out recently and he still says it.
As a man if I call anyone ' flower, lovely, petal, swetheart' etc then it simply is a term of endearment for someone who I don't know terribly well meant in a non harmful, non mickey taking non sexual way.
Exactly. As a man I am often addressed by such epithets and take no offence whatsoever, though I did once suggest to a lady who addressed me as "bonny lad" might benefit from a trip to Specsavers.
I went out with someone from Doncaster in my youth. I think he called girls flower. Didn't really bother me. Turned out we were not meant for each other. Sadly can't even remember his name!
