For a while now i have been feeling really tired, no matter how much sleep i get, sometimes i am so tired i am falling asleep at my desk! My eyes are constently heavy and i have no energy. - i know that i should go to the doctors, but its not easy to getan appointment - sometimes have to wait up to a week, so thought i would ask on here first, to see if anyone has any suggestions. Constant tiredness and lack of energy are classic symptoms of anaemia, a.k.a. iron deficiency. You should definitely make an appointment with your doctor, though, who will be able to diagnose this properly. If it does turn out to be anaemia, it's fairly easily treated with iron supplements...
The most obvious one would be hypothyroidsim. A simple blood test would tell you. Possibly sleep apnoea (do you snore)? Depression`s another one. I`d go with the blood test to start with. If you have to wait a week to get an appointment, so be it. The sooner you make it, the sooner you`ll be on the road to finding out what the problem is.
Could be a number of things. Possibly this?

You do need to make an appointment to see your GP though, regardless of how long you may have to wait.
If you had made the appointment a week ago, you would have seen him/her by now.
Make the appointment now - we can't tell what's wrong with you.

Thanks for taking the time to answer, with both anaemia and an under active tyroid in mind, i have made a doctors appointment for next week. So fingers crossed.
