Nurse. Ahem.
That was a shock. 'Nurse practitioners' can do it.
Honestly? Honestly? The local anaesthetic injection was the most focussed pain I have experienced in my entire life. And my girlfriend passed out when one of the nurses invited my girlfriend over to see the 'blood'.
Good to have it done though.
I had one taken off my shoulder three weeks ago by my GP. The injection was painful/uncomfortable, but the procedure itself was painless due to the anaesthetic. The doc insisted on showing me what came out, which was the worst bit!
There was quite a bit of bruising and discolouration afterwards, but that soon went.
Oh, the worst bit with hindsight was when I had the dressing removed a few days later:- the nurse managed to strip all the hairs off my shoulder when the plaster thing was taken off (aaarrgh!)
Good luck!
