Cat allergies

Can you have allergy of one cat but not another?
My SIL is staying and when she got up yesterday morning said the feathers in the duvet were playing havoc with her asthma, until I pointed out that the duvet cost me a tenner in Tesco and there was no way any feathers were in it.
The only thing I can think is the problem is th cat but they have four of their own and she doesn't have problems with them.

I was brought up around cats and some set me off more than others, moreso ones I hadn't been around a lot and would suffer more when I came back to visit than when I'd lived there. I also have my own cats and have done for years.
I have a diagnosed cat hair allergy which came up when I saw an immunologist to rule out a latex allergy for an operation. It came up one of the highest (assume maybe with the exposure). They diagnosed me with oral allergy syndrome as I have a number of them.
I've found that it's more if hair gets anywhere in my nose or mouth I suffer, like when I'm trying to get cat hair up from the carpet.
Same with horses (although the allergy is much more severe to them), it's if I touch them and get the hair anywhere near my face, especially my eyes. That one is probably the most extreme, eyes, breathing etc...
Similarly I have a nut allergy diagnosed same time but it's more the raw outside of them that seems to set me off (like cracking and eating out of the shell) and I'm ok with more processed ones like in chocolate.
Again, I came up allergic to apples. Some make my mouth go funny when I eat them, some I'm ok with.
The immunology nurse said an allergy which affects breathing can be the kind which can get quite severe quite quickly so she should be careful, especially if asthmatic.

This won't sound very sympathetic but I'm just fed up of hearing her moaning (not just about that). She won't even try taking an anti-histamine so I guess ill be spending the afternoon while they are out trying to get up all the cat hair. If I can find the carpet under all the junk she has left lying around.

Oh she's a joy Planks!
After this mornings lecture on how gross is was that my cat had crapped in his litter tray over night i walked round the house and picked up 17 (yes, I counted) used baby wipes. I also just found a carrier bag with a dirty nappy in it stuffed in the corner of the kitchen. I'll be adding that to my list of her double standards. (must remember to close this page before she gets back).

They arrived saturday and are here until Thursday :s
Her personal hygiene is tip top, she just lives like a pig in every other aspect.
Lol Pasta, if I tipped a weeks worth of used nappies, wipes, bibs, dirty clothes, old bits of food, etc into her car she wouldn't notice. It would just blend in with the rest.
And now she really annoyed me. I just discovered mashed up wheetabix all over my suede dining chairs and she gave her daughter all my photo frames to play with like toys and took all the picturs out just to make sure they could get covered in grubby hand prints. Gggrrrrrrrrrr!
