Are there any methods of contraception that stop your periods completely?
Aside from the pill and not taking a break every month? (which i do now)
Thanks xx

If using for contraceptive purposes, you need to take it at around the same time everyday and as soon as you stop taking it/take it too late/miss a tablet then you (according to the PIL) will need to use another method of contraception. It can take a month or two for your system to adjust to it so don't panic if you have a heavier or longer period the first month. The same will apply if you stop and restart.
I wish I had known about it sooner, I used to suffer really badly and these made such a difference.
I was told by my doctor that the bleeding that you have when on your week off is an 'artificial' bleed (ie not the same as during your natural cycle) as it was decided, when the original pill was developed, that women would prefer to still have them!

oddly 4get, history says that you are wrong and women were not meant to have so many periods. Women of the working classes would marry much younger, would bear a child, breastfeed it (which makes pregnancy unlikely), and almost immediately it was physiologically possible, become pregnant again. Its likely that they would have less than one period a year, maybe none at all for most of their fertile years.
