Oh, no. Another bite.

I have just finished a course of antibiotics for a bite on my leg which became infected and now I have another bite on my arm which appears to be going the same way. It's already at duck egg proportions.
Why do I react so badly to bites? Is there anything I can do to stop this over -reaction?

Honestly Tilly and all you abers they are fantastic,My brother-in-law who lives in scotland phoned me yesterday to see where he could buy them(they have suffered these bites for years) I left a packet there and they have been using them and said they were brill and wanted to buy some more.He was going to look on the internet, because they don't have the shops up there like we do down here.
What is going on? I know three people (apart from you lot) who are suffering from bites. My daughter is one of them and a friend is on her fourth course of anti-biotics trying to get rid of the infection. Her arm has swollen to twice its size and is inflamed. I can't remember ever hearing about so many. Where are the mozzies or whatever it is doing it coming from?
I think I win the competition for worst insect bite.
Some might remember but last year I got bitten by something (no idea what) and ended up in hospital on a drip for five days after they had to cut a big hole into my leg to get rid of it. I think I posted pics of it on here.
I'm still proud that I've seen the muscle in my own leg. :)

gaarlic will just attract French mossies - they can smell it all the way across the channel.
EB, I once had an abscess on my face - I don't know if it was a bite or what, but it came up looking like half a football. When I went into the hospital with it, the doctors all ran for their cameras. Wish they'd given me a photo of it.
