MRI Scan....

I went for my MRI scan for my back on Saturday.

Hopefully it will find out why my back keeps going into spasms.

Good job I'm not claustrophobic!... It's like putting a cigar in a Smartie tube!, and although they give you earplugs, the noise is unbelievable.

Saying that, I feel fortunate that I was able to walk in and out of the room unaided unlike some of the other people having scans.

yes, my brain scan was rewarding too, petal!

In fact everyone kept asking if they'd found a brain. I just told them "Yes, but first they had to send for an extra large scanner to fit it in."

Sounds like it was one of the older machines, the new ones are reasonably quiet.

Whatever you do DON'T go for a vertebral fusion. The medical evidence has been assessed and it is worse than useless.

I had an MRI done years ago for some sinus trouble and headaches..( all good in the end....had to have some disorientation treatment for vertigo of sorts which was odd as I dont suffer from heights at all and have done a couple of parachute jumps )...I'm not claustrophopic either, but boy, it was uncomfortable for the 30 mins or so...Had this lady doctor chatting to me and I could just about make her out in a small mirror when I looked straight up ( I wont tell you what i was thinking that made the time go quickly though eh? )

methyl, I doubt a CD would've drowned out the racket the machine made.

Baldric, definitely an older machine.

Yogi, spot on, the top of the machine looked like a microwave oven and was six inches from my face, I had to close my eyes to stop me going boss-eyed

have a dvd of my 2nd 1,not that it makes any sense to me,can't even see the white dots that are ment to be there

You wallpapered the scanner? I know it takes a while in there but, come on!! :p
