In 40 years or more "soaked" in and by the medical fraternity, I have never heard of ante-natal depression.
Post natal depression....YES.
So, what is the difference between depression during pregnancy and ante natal depression?
OR....has ante natal depression joined the band of "yuppie" diseases?

I wonder also, when you consider the hard times generally being endured in the UK, that as a bump becomes more evidently a real baby that will be there any moment, the enormous consequences also kick in.
When I was having my first there was also a lot of media coverage of suspected child abuse - was it in Middlesborough where loads of kids were removed from their homes overnight? - and this really got me down.
So maybe our mad 24-hours shock-horror media coverage helps get women down at this time in their lives.
