Injured Throat- 6 Days On..

I ate a hot and sharp chip 6 days ago and hurt my throat. I hoped it would be gone by now, but it still hurts and is difficult to swallow during and after eating. I wonder if it was the chip at all, or something else that coincided? I will try and get to a doc- can they look as far down your throat without an endoscope? It's to the left of my voice box. My throat also feels very dry.
Any thoughts much appreciated!

Yes, you must now get to see an ENT Specialist, as a GP will only have a limited view and will not have the expertise for laryngoscopy or endoscopy.

Probably the result of the chip, but other alternatives must now be excluded.
I did the same with a hot slice of carrot which I stupidly put in my mouth straight from the pan and accidentally swallowed it. It made swallowing painful for around 5 days then suddenly cleared up

Thanks- I haven't had any pain today yet, but haven't eaten anything hot so I will see what happens at dinner time. If eating makes it worse, I'll try and see the doc on Monday.
